The Reaper Knowledge Tomb | FAQs

Glorious beards. Well-cared-for ink. Piercing questions. Welcome to the Reaper Knowledge Tomb, where useful answers come with a little attitude.

Beards, Short and Long

Will beard oil make my beard grow?

The Reaper can do many things. Overrule genetics is not one of them. Beard oil conditions your beard and the skin underneath. It is not a beard-growth treatment.

Is beard oil just for long beards?

No. Short beards deserve care too. Work the oil through your beard and into the skin beneath it. A glorious beard is not measured in inches alone.

How much beard oil should I use?

Start with a small amount, work it through evenly, and add a little more only if needed. Your beard's length, thickness, and skin needs will affect how much feels right. Aim for conditioned, not greasy. You are grooming a beard, not lubricating farm equipment.

How often should I use beard oil?

Start with a daily routine and adjust the amount and frequency to suit your skin and beard. Follow the directions on your bottle. Consistency beats empty bottles gathering dust on the shelf.

What is the difference between beard oil, balm, butter, and soap?

Oil helps condition your beard and skin. Balm adds shape and control. Butter provides richer conditioning. Beard and body soap handles cleansing. Different tools, same mission.

How do I choose a scent?

Start with our Find Your Scent guide. Pick a scent that sounds like you, not the person you think you are required to smell like.

Tattoo Care

Can I use your tattoo products on a new tattoo?

No. Eternal Shine Tattoo Oil and Preserve Tattoo Cream are both for fully healed tattoos only, including when purchased together in the Preserve System. Do not use them on fresh or healing tattoos, broken skin, or irritated skin. Follow your tattoo artist's aftercare instructions during healing. These products are for cosmetic conditioning and daily maintenance after your tattoo is fully healed.

Can tattoo care make my tattoo look better?

Conditioning helps keep healed skin moisturized and your ink looking cared for. It cannot fix a tattoo or replace your artist's work. The artist still deserves most of the credit.

How long should I care for my tattoo?

Follow your artist's instructions during healing. Once healed, keep caring for the skin as part of your regular routine. Longer than most New Year's resolutions is a good start.

Piercing Care & Pierce Guard™

Can I use Pierce Guard™ on a fresh piercing?

No. Follow your professional piercer's aftercare instructions for a fresh or healing piercing. Do not add Pierce Guard to that routine. The Reaper supports listening to the person who put the hole there.

What should I do about a piercing bump?

Have a qualified professional piercer assess it before choosing a product. A bump can have different causes, so do not assume every bump needs the same approach. If you suspect infection or have worsening pain, heat, swelling, or other concerning symptoms, seek medical advice.

Does Pierce Guard™ work instantly?

We do not promise instant results or that a product will resolve every piercing bump. Follow the label and get professional guidance about persistent irritation. If we sold wizardry, the packaging would say so.

Can I apply half the bottle at once?

Please do not. Follow the amount and frequency on the product label. More product does not mean better results. The Reaper encourages restraint.

Is the Reaper a licensed piercer?

No. The Reaper is our mascot, not your piercer or healthcare professional. For piercing advice, consult a qualified professional piercer. For medical concerns, consult a healthcare professional.
